The four different section of IELTS Academy Testing Exam

1. Listening: The Listening section of IELTS Academic consists of four recorded monologues and conversations. The recordings are played only once, and the questions are based on them. The recordings vary in length, and the test taker has 30 minutes to answer 40 questions. The test is designed to assess the ability to understand spoken English in academic contexts.

2. Reading: The Reading section of IELTS Academic includes three passages that increase in difficulty. The passages are taken from books, journals, magazines, and newspapers. The test taker has 60 minutes to answer 40 questions. The test is designed to assess the ability to understand academic reading materials and to locate information, identify the writer's opinion, and understand the writer's purpose.

3. Writing: The Writing section of IELTS Academic includes two tasks. Task 1 requires the test taker to describe a graph, chart, table, or diagram in at least 150 words. Task 2 requires the test taker to write an essay in at least 250 words on a given topic. The test is designed to assess the ability to organize and express ideas in writing, use appropriate grammar and vocabulary, and present a well-developed argument.

4. Speaking: The Speaking section of IELTS Academic is a face-to-face interview with a trained examiner or computer based exam where the examiner connect via computer. The test taker has 11 to 14 minutes to complete the interview, which is divided into three parts. In Part 1, the test taker is asked general questions about themselves, their family, their work or studies, and their interests. In Part 2, the test taker is given a topic to talk about for two minutes. In Part 3, the test taker is asked more complex questions related to the topic discussed in Part 2. The test is designed to assess the ability to speak English fluently, use appropriate grammar and vocabulary, and organize and express ideas coherently.
